Kunio Hara is the Representative Director of Spiral Up Co., Ltd. and the developer of Ho-Me-I-Ku, a human development method originating in Japan.
Ho-Me-I-Ku is a management approach that focuses on the behavior of each employee and uses praise to promote growth and results. It has been adopted by more than 750 companies, reaching over 1 million people in more than 20 countries worldwide.
He is the author of 34 books, translated into multiple languages, and is also a contributor to the web edition of the American business magazine Forbes on Forbes.com. His international activities are extensive: he served as Chair of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Global Shapers Community India 2025 and has spoken at the World Education Summit. In 2025, he was appointed as the first Chairperson of the Japan-India Future Education Center, which promotes educational cooperation between Japan and India. He is internationally active in the fields of leadership and human resource development.
